Philosophy

Avion Clothier opened in December 2015 in Los Angeles. The store carries a curated selection of fashion and accessories for women, men and children, along with home accessories and beauty. The designs focus on old world technique, hand craftsmanship, subtle detailing and fine tailoring for a specific and elegant fit and silhouette.

Avion Clothier was founded by designer Katherine Tsina Bird.

Katherine Tsina Bird

Designer, Katherine Tsina Bird, graduated from Parsons School of Design in 2004, and also holds a bachelor’s degree in English and Contemporary Dance from the University of California at Berkeley. Upon arrival in New York, Tsina Bird trained in modern dance. She held an internship at Balenciaga America, and worked professionally as a fitting model in New York.

Her designer women’s line, Avion was started in 2007, and focuses on made-to-measure with private clients.

The collection and store have been featured in such publications as Vogue, Vogue.com, W, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, C Magazine among others.
